Consider joining the Northwest Association for Theological Discussion
NWATD members participate in an annual two day meeting (Monday evening to Wednesday morning) focused around four presentations led by members of the association. Presentations bring theological reflection to bear on varied subjects, such as art, culture, worship, pastoral practice, interfaith relations, politics, mission, economics, race relations, ecumenism, or denominational identity, Participation is open to pastors, teachers or other church professionals in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or in denominations with which the Disciples have ecumenical partnerships or conversations. NWATD’s geographic area is contiguous with the Oregon/Southwest Idaho and NW regions of the Christian Church (i.e., Oregon, Washington, N. Idaho, SW Idaho, Alaska). Membership includes an expectation that the member will produce and lead one presentation in a three year period. Dues are $25/year, a portion of which goes into a travel pool for members traveling some distance to the meeting. Lodging and meals for the 2016 meeting were $152 for two nights and five meals.
Membership openings for the 2017-2020 triennium are now available. If you are interested, contact NWATD membership chair Monica Myers Greenberg (firstname.lastname@example.org). Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2017.
